Danielle, a former member of the girl group NewJeans, has spoken publicly for the first time since being notified of contract termination by her agency ADOR, amid an ongoing legal dispute involving a ₩43 billion damages lawsuit.
On Jan. 7, Danielle addressed fans through a live broadcast on social media, sharing her thoughts and current situation following the termination of her exclusive contract. The broadcast, which lasted approximately nine minutes, was streamed via her personal Instagram and YouTube accounts and reached both domestic and international fans.
“I fought until the very end to stay with the members,” Danielle said during the livestream. “There is always a place in my heart for NewJeans. This is not the end, but the beginning.”
While she acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding her situation, Danielle refrained from discussing details of the ongoing lawsuit. “Many things are still being sorted out,” she said. “When the time is right, I will update you on the legal process and the questions you may have.”
This marked Danielle’s first direct public statement since her contract dispute escalated. Previously, she had indicated her intention to return to ADOR after losing a lawsuit that sought confirmation of her exclusive contract’s invalidity. However, ADOR subsequently notified her of contract termination last month.
ADOR has since filed a damages lawsuit totaling approximately ₩43 billion against Danielle, her family, and Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR. The legal proceedings are currently ongoing.
Danielle’s remarks focused on her emotional connection to her former group and her commitment to communicating transparently with fans, while avoiding commentary on the legal conflict itself.
